TCMF's Purpose and Requirements The Technology Commercialization Matching Fund (TCMF) was created to provide Rutgers with an effective tool to enhance its technology commercialization efforts. This tool, which is managed by Rutgers' Office of Corporate Liaison and Technology Transfer (OCLTT), will advance promising Rutgers technologies through providing matching funding for research. To be eligible for consideration, the proposed technology has to be (i) about to be licensed or optioned to a company that, as part of the license or option, will provide sponsored research funding to the Rutgers lab where the technology was invented, or (ii) already licensed, and the licensee is considering new sponsored research funding. Prospective licensees and optionees will be provided with templates of a research agreement, and a license or option agreement and will be expected to sign those "as is" with negotiations covering only dollar amounts, percentages and periods of time. The award of funding will require a fully-executed (i) research agreement and (ii) license or option with compensation to the university for the underlying technology. TCMF Sources of funds TCMF is funded with a $200,000 grant from the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology TCMF Funding TCMF will provide funding that can be applied solely to direct costs of advancing a particular technology and its commercialization. Technologies and commercialization opportunities will be assessed by OCLTT personnel as well as by a group of outside advisors. It is the general intent of TCMF to provide matching funds of up to $50,000 per project. Research projects with faculty owned companies are not eligible for this program Funding Application: Funding Application forms can be downloaded from http://ocltt.rutgers.edu/tcf/proposal.php The completed applications should be forwarded as follows: (i) IT, engineering and physical sciences to Andy Staroscik atstaroscik@ocltt.rutgers.edu (Andy can be reached at: 732-932-0115 x3010) (ii) Life science, agriculture and environmental sciences to Patrick Sinko at sinko@rci.rutgers.edu (Pat can be reached at 732-445-3831 x213) Projects will be reviewed for suitability with the guidelines and eligible projects will be funded on a first-come first served basis.
